Before the ceremony begins, Carrie and Bill climb aboard a helicopter and head into the Montana mountains for wedding portraits. This is one of my favorite ways to incorporate adventure into a traditional wedding. You don't have to choose between disappearing into the mountains for an elopement and having a full celebration with the people you love. You can have both.

The helicopter gives Carrie and Bill access to incredible mountain scenery while also creating a pocket of time where it is just the two of them. We photograph the adventure, take epic portraits surrounded by the landscape, and then fly back toward Firelight Farm.

Except Carrie and Bill don't quietly return to the venue. They make an entrance.

A mobile bar, signature drinks, music, lounge furniture, lawn games, or interactive food can turn that hour into one of the most memorable parts of the wedding.

The venue's two-story design makes it possible to create distinct experiences throughout the day without asking guests to travel between multiple properties. Firelight Farm combines its restored barn with modern amenities, bars, gathering spaces, and surrounding outdoor grounds.

Carrie and Bill enjoy dinner upstairs before moving into toasts. Once the speeches wrap, it's time to dance.

How to Plan a Helicopter Wedding in Montana
